07/30/2010 - Oakland, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Oakland Athletics have signed their top pick of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, outfielder Michael Choice, to a minor league contract.

Choice was taken 10th overall in the first round.

He was named the Southland Conference's Player and Hitter of the Year last season after batting a league-leading .383 with 16 home runs and 59 RBI in 60 games for Texas-Arlington.

The Texas native finished his collegiate career with a .392 batting average in 166 games. He clubbed a school-record 34 home runs and collected 162 RBI during his three years at Texas-Arlington.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
